First stop: Lima 

Peru's vibrant capital: Lima

Lima is also home to a rich Afro-Peruvian culture, with its music, dance, and cuisine reflecting the profound African influence in the country. From the rhythms of the traditional "Festejo" music to the fusion of indigenous, African, and Spanish flavors in the city's culinary scene, Lima captures the essence of Peru's diverse cultural heritage.

Second stop: Chincha & Huacachina 

Heartbeat of Afro-Peruvian Culture: El Carmen

Chincha, particularly the district of El Carmen, is a vital center of Afro-Peruvian culture, preserving traditions rooted in the African diaspora. Known for its vibrant music, dance, and spiritual celebrations, it is the birthplace of iconic Afro-Peruvian rhythms like festejo and landó, with the cajón as a key instrument. Amador Ballumbrosio, a legendary musician and dancer from El Carmen, played a pivotal role in reviving Afro-Peruvian traditions and sharing them globally. His family continues his legacy, keeping the cultural heritage alive through performances and education.

Highlights:

Start the day with a journey to Chincha, the heart of Afro-Peruvian culture, where you’ll learn about festejo, and connect with the Black Latin history. Visit a local wine farm to discover the craft behind Peru’s pisco and wine, complete with tastings and traditional Afro-Peruvian cuisine.The adventure continues at the stunning Huacachina Oasis, where you’ll enjoy a exiting Dune buggy ride and sandboarding as the sun sets over the desert.

4 days in Máncora’s golden sands enjoying the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.
